“The LORD saw that the wickedness of men was great on earth, and that all the thoughts of their hearts turned to evil every day. The LORD repented that he had made man on the earth, and was grieved in his heart. And the LORD said: I will cut off from the face of the earth man whom I have created, from man to cattle, creeping things and birds of the air; for I repent that I have made them.”
