It's undeniable that there are and always will be grey areas in our knowledge of history. Nevertheless, before formulating a hypothesis, we must first ensure that we can rely on a minimum of evidence, because if we assume that we can rely on an unproven hypothesis because it may be proven in the future, we can assert anything and everything.
