To speak of truth is to assume that there is a level of understanding that is not a mere point of view, but a level of exact perception of what is. This level, where thought touches being, where there is no longer any difference between concept and reality, is that of divine intelligence. It is because the human intellect in some way reflects the divine Spirit that it can attain truths, even the Truth. If there is no God, there are only changing perspectives, fragmentary and subjective points of view. The very notion of truth is meaningless (except in a trivial way, to designate very limited factual statements: "the glass is on the table").
